The good old days…

There was once a time when no one needed to talk about organic farming because all produce was naturally grown, a time when all agricultural machinery was man-powered and villagers were sometimes farmers, sometimes craftsmen, and everything you owned was the result of manual labour. But life was calmer back then, and the season’s seemed to flow more smoothly from one to the next.

There were no smartphones, no notifications, nothing to post, just respect for nature’s bounty. Surrounded by all of the fascinating objects on display at the Peppange Museum, many of which are now obsolete, it’s easy to feel nostalgic for the rural life of days gone by. Here at the Peppange Museum of Rural Life and Handicrafts, you can smell the flowers, listen to the birds chirping in the trees and hear the sweet sound of water.

Visitors can examine ploughs and other agricultural machinery, many of which are still in working order, discover how crops used to be planted and harvested, and learn how to use a medieval forge. The garden invites you to take a meditative stroll and observe its wide variety of vegetables, spices and medicinal plants. Enjoy numerous workshops where you can learn all about the meticulousness required of people at the time.

There is even a playground on site for younger visitors and a brasserie for the older ones. Cheers to a dreamy day for the entire family!
