Where? Gaalgebierg, L-4142 Esch-sur-Alzette
A real paradise for nature lovers, just a short trip from city centre
Paradise for nature lovers
Just a stone’s throw from the city centre of Esch-sur-Alzette in Gaalgebierg is an idyllic world the whole family can enjoy. The Escher Déirepark is a breath of fresh air, a natural oasis, a little piece of heaven. Far from being a zoo, the park is home to a wide variety of animal species in their natural environment, there are no cages to be found.
There are 25 species in total and more than 150 animals to observe and interact with! The educational farm offers the opportunity for both young and old to learn about the different species and their needs. There are even several species of ancient domestic animals, such as Konik and Huzule horses and Poitou donkeys. The Heemelwee is home to animals that can be petted and can be visited on request from Monday to Friday (5 to 15 people) or freely on Tuesday from 3 to 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Escher Déirepark is a true wonderland for children, oh and did we mention that there are two playgrounds onsite... Shh!
