Screening & discussion

AN EVENT ORGANISED BY THE SERVICE ÉGALITÉ DES CHANCES DE LA VILLE D'ESCH,. AS PART OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S SPORTS DAY.

The documentary Free to Run, directed by Pierre Morath, plunges you into the fascinating history of running, a sport once reserved for a male elite and now practised by millions of people around the world. Through poignant stories, such as that of Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon, the film reveals the fierce battles waged by women to conquer their place in the running world.

Free to Run explores the social, cultural and political barriers that have long held back universal access to this iconic sport, while celebrating the visionary pioneers who transformed running into a symbol of freedom and equality. A vibrant tribute to human determination and a powerful reminder of the role of sport in the fight for social justice.

The screening will be followed by a discussion (in Luxembourgish) with Yola Hild, Vera Hoffmann, Danièle Kaber and Charline Mathias. Moderated by Joëlle Letsch (ADT-Center).
A direct oral translation from Lëtzebuergesch into French is available on request.
